There are days when you wake up, and you don’t want to do anything. That’s okay. But there are also days when you wake up, and you have countless ideas and goals and thoughts brewing. These are the moments you need to harness. Haven’t you ever wanted to accomplish something? Had a dream – maybe you wanted to own a business, start a blog, sell something you make, get a new job? Develop your goals, dream about your successes, talk about your ideas. But don’t stop there! Don’t just talk about it. Be about it. If you want something, get up and do it. If you want to be something, be it. If you want to get something done, start now. Be productive.
Here are some tips to get you going!
5 Ways to Be More Productive (and get your creativity flowing!)
- Wake up early.
I know, I know. Some of us are morning people. Most of us are not. But trust me – waking up early gives you more time in your day. Use this time for yourself, to get stuff done, or to simply carpe the hell out of that diem. Do something great.
- Make a list of short term goals or long term goals. Maybe both.
Make a list of things you want to accomplish today. They can even be really, really short term goals. Like eat breakfast. It’s hard sometimes to even do just that! Studies show that crossing things off lists help people be more productive because they can see their tasks at hand. It also is supposed to be really satisfying and mood-boosting to actually cross things off. It is. Try it.
- Buy a planner. And USE it.
I recently came across Passion Planner – And let me just tell you that the founder, Angelia Trinidad, is a genius. She is so damn productive, it’s amazeballs. She created Passion Planner, and as found on the Passion Planner website, Trinidad states, “I wanted to make a tool that encouraged people not only to start thinking about their goals, but make taking action towards them a part of their daily lives. And that’s how Passion Planner was born.”
It’s an amazing thing. Did you know for every planner purchased, they give one away? I just want to draw all over it and make it pretty. And also put all my lists and other sh*! in it. Anyways, buy a planner. Use your phone calendar. Write on a napkin. Whatever it is, map out your goals somehow. Reach them. Attain them! Here’s mine:
- Listen to music that makes you happy.
Not only that, surround yourself with things that put you in a good mood. My good mood song right now is, “Back Pocket,” by Vulfpeck on their album, Thrill of the Arts.
- Set deadlines. Stick to them.
Even if your task and deadline is, “Walk the dog in five minutes,” know that it feels really good to meet deadlines. I promise. 🙂
